A loving home for every child!

The city of Multan is located in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is Pakistan's third largest city by area and it is fifth largest by population. Located on the banks of the Chenab River in the geographic centre of the country, Multan is about 560km from the capital, Islamabad. The wider district of Multan had a population of 3.1 million in 1998.

SOS Children's Village Multan opened it’s doors in a donated property in 1999 and completed it’s campus in the summer of 2002 when 70 very excited children were ready to move into their new homes. The land of this project, as well as for the school, has been donated by the government of Punjab. Brick finished, combined with local design elements, 17 homes, enveloped by a lush green landscape, playground, cricket feild, auditorium and a mosque are just a few of the facilities offered for the children.

Serving over 1500 children of the region from 1999-2014

Admissions began in 1999, currently housing 185 children in the village, this is a first welfare project of its kind in Multan and it has been very well received by the community.

Secondary School Multan

Secondary School Multan is providing quality education to the orphans and abandoned children of SOS and also for the children of neglected and remote communities. With strength of 1300 children, the school runs on a nonprofit basis. Classes offered are from playgroup till F.A/F.Sc, following an Oxford English syllabus, children receive education through computers and audio/video methodology of teaching. You will be happy to know that a 100 percent first division result has been achieved since 2009.

SOS Youth Home Multan

SOS Youth Home Multan is equipping our boys to take the future head on under the guidance of a Youth Director, with 4 new residences accommodating 60 boys, this new facility has a unique concept of community dining, technical training and an Administration Block.

SOS Hermann Gmeiner School

While the SOS Hermann Gmeiner School was being constructed, a temporary school was opened in the building which had formerly served as the children's home. Within a short span of time, over 400 children had been admitted and were all moved to the new school building in September 2007. As in all our other schools, this complex also has a Primary Section and separate High Schools for girls and boys.

SOS Multan Technical Training Institute

The area selected for the SOS Multan Institute of Technology provides an environment and location, being inhabited by factory workers largely of Industrial Estate Multan; the demographics of the area clearly depict a graph of low-income groups. Offering Diploma based vocational trades; we anticipate opening the doors in September 2015.

Milestones of our lives

The Environment Protection Fund and SOS Multan have joined hands to mark this as the best “Good Practice” since the inception of SOS Multan Village. Hand in the hand with T.E.P.F, our children are learning to give back to society the love and the care they have received. To nurture and care for their surroundings and to integrate with minorities and strengthen religious tolerance. Every Child passing out of the SOS HG Higher Secondary School Multan and the Village are actively participating in voluntary drives, organised and supported by T.E.P.F and are awarded certification upon completion of the program.

English Language Software Program

English Language Software Program is up and running accommodating more than 1200 students a week. We expect this to drastically change the linguistic skills of our children preparing them for a very competitive world out there.

Fundraiser 2014

On 22nd February, the Fundraiser 2014 took place with a bang! Musical Evening and dinner was organised by SOS Children’s Village Multan with tireless efforts hosting our donors and sponsors. The spirit and support of the locals is commendable, as we keep reaching new heights of success because of their unfaltering support for the SOS cause.
